  • Boring out a 3.1 MPFI block to 3.3

Since GM made a 3.3L V6, can one have the block bored to 3.3L and use the pistons, etc. from a 3300? This is just more for curiosity, and also.. Would it cause much of a performance gain? I was kicking the idea around one day with a friend, and kinda went.. "Hummh..." Thanks for any info..

i think the 3300 is a 90degree motor, but i dunno for sure, i know that you only get 100cc's from .040" over on a 3.1, so that ups it to a 3.2. i dont think its safe to bore it far enough to be a 3.3, but then ARI bores the 660 blocks to a 3.4, so who's to say no.

      The 3300 used a 3.7inch bore.

Thats .080 larger than a 3400 block bore. So taking a 3.1L block out that far. NO you couldnt use those pistons.
