Resonator? Convertor?

Alright guys i have a question. On a 95 GT with the 3100, from the exhaust manifold to the back of the car there is two chambers. One is triangular shaped and one is a cylinder shape. Which one is the resonator and which is the converter. I was just wondering cuz i plan on getting my exhaust mounted tomorrow. Also, i am having the piping from the downpipe back replaced. Should I go with 2.25 or 2.5 inch piping. The high-flow cat and the mufflers i have, have 2.5 inch openings. Thanks for all you guys input in advance.

the cylinder shaped one should be your resonator. Your resonator will almost always be after all converters
