I have an 03 Grand Prix w/ a 3100 and need some help modding it. Need some advice on where to find mods and what to do to it. Ive heard that 3400 mods will work. But this is my first 3100 engine so Im new to this.

3400 and 3100 are sisters. Like 90% of the components are the same.

Look for headers they are always the best bang for the buck.

I've got an 02 grand prix. I started off with dual exhaust, intake and a Hi flow MAF. If I could do it again I would start with some headers or try to turbocharge it. the FFP UDP is a good mod as well. I wish I did'nt bother with the Hi flow MAF.

      good luck

FFP UDP? Whats that? What intake and exhaust did you use? I found a supercharger kit on the net that Id like to use. Its like $4k though.

FFP is the BRAND, and UDP is UnderDrive Pulley.

the UDP is one mod that I do NOT recommend AT ALL seeing that it does not work as a harmonic balancer. The engine when running gives off harmonic resonation that can damage the engine. If it does not have that rubber ring in the balancer, then it does not have anything to counter the damaging harmonics.

If a company ever makes an UDP that is also a harmonic balancer, THEN I will get one, but until then, I will not even consider them.

If I have the engine on a STAND, then I will build it up the same as I did on my Cutlass Supreme.

If I have the engine in the CAR, and I do NOT want to pull it, then I will TURBO it. I will also not supercharge. I don't like having to USE power to MAKE power.

I bought a couple intakes and cut them to fit. as for exhaust I had a local shop split my pipe and put 2 flowmasters on, and remove the resonator.

maybe you can bolt on the new style rear exhaust manifold. or a 3500 plenum, if you do the plnum you might as well fit a bigger throttle body to it while its off and figure out the little things so you can just swap it on.

3500 plenum + power drill + ebay = being able to get and fit a 65mm TB (ford mustang 4.6) for less than $10

good luck figuring out the little things though (like idle air control)

I thought we had the IAC figured out... I guess Marty needs to get off his ass and get the adapters done though...

Yeah, but the adapters we are working with run through the EGR port since we all have that disabled, but, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't believe wishitwasaGTP does at this time.

on getting them done though, they look so much better than anything I could claw together though so I'm not going to insist on rushing him, I still have at least a month before I'll consider needing one anyway.

true, sorry, I'm kinda sleepy right now so I'm forgetting holes in the manifold, stayed up nearly all night cursing at my heads putting them back together, could easily thread the adapter through the EVAP hole since that would just get plugged otherwise.
