  • Perfomance help for the newbie

Well im new anyways I own a 94 gagt blew a head gasket, and cracked a head on my car. I plan on buyin a new/used 3100 engine. Now what i need to know is all the performance thingers i can get on this engine, sticking out the hood or whatever. Keep in mind the car has little to no room on the left or right side in the engine compartment. Ive seen some sc's that look hot as hell mounted over the intake manifold and such..but give me performance info and details, not the same old cai, plugs, wires, port and polish, pulleye stuff. Like how to fit headers and a sc on it or somethin.

Well thanks for listening to me talk your head off..lol

your best thing to do would be to start with a 3400. you would be up 20hp gain just on the motor alone. its a direct bolt in for your 3100.

i think "the other guys" and S&S are the only ones with headers for the GA. As far as a supercharger, kit would be easiest (if available). for more power than that you need to lose some compression, stock 3100 is 9.5:1 youd need like at most 9, 8.5 is better, and 8 would let you force in whatever you want just about (SC+NOS!). i think a centrifugal supercharger like paxton would be a neater installation, less fabricating. i bet the one for the 5.0 mustang would be more than enough, it does up to 8psi on the 5.0 i think.

no nos. I just need it to be faster than any other 3100 or 3400. A sc i am def wanting to do and figure out a way to put it on instead of using rsm's 4g kit. cause im not payin 4g's for a supercharger.

Oh and I know about the 3100 3400 swap its all if i can find one for a decent price with low miles.

how much do those sc's usually cost? plus the other stuff to put it on and make it work? and someone told me somewhere i could use 3800 headers back I have to do some cutting and rerouting for the back.
