  • Ford injector fitment?? (pic)

That seem like a good plan?

I think if I use the top groove, the injectors won't sit up high enough in the rail.

What have you guys done? I was searching throught the F-body sites and this is what's recommmended.

Would take 2 minutes to do with a dremel.

I remember seeing talk about this, I searched and searched and came up with nothing...

i have 6 3.8 sc injectors on my z right now and they fit np. i have a vid of my car running with them but i do not wish to upload it b/c i have dial up and would take forever.

the clips hold the injector on the side not the front, so a groove isn't necessary.

Yeah man, just drop them in, the dimenstions are the same as far as clip retention and fitment to rail is concerned.

        Great, thanks.

I was hoping for such a simple solution.

Now, hopefullt that's the last FORD part I will ever have to run in my car...

Those look similar to the Delphi-Lucas injectors I recently tossed in:

The main thing you might want to be concerned about is the impedance. I believe the 99+ (3.4, etc.) has a high impedance injector driver... I ran across some Lucas injectors from a Ford on eBay, and was really curious about them as well. They were advertised to work with Ford (perhaps Mustang) and LS1's if I remember right...

Resistance is 14.5 ohms on all 6.

you running boost, n20 or have alot of porting done? those look like 30lb injectors. and since ford injectors operate at a lower fuel pressure they will be more like 32-34 lb injectors.

                Yeah, they are 30#'s.

Car should be supercharged within the next 2 months. I am going to be using a Rotrex supercharger mounted where the AC compressor used to be.

Yeah, I will get tons of pics.

I actually did a quick mock up today with my half assed braket and the blower and it's gonna be tight. I am not anxious to start makin that braket at all... kinda scaring me. LOL.

                    But, I'll get her done.

Yeah, centrifugal blower, the inpeller spins 9.48 X faster than the pulley, so with 6000 RPM and the stock crank pulley, the thing will spin 100 000 RPM... I am anxious to see how it performs.

My half assed braket, lol, yes, my machine shop guy is a tool. I plan on mounting it much like a AC braket.

                        And the FMIC.

Come on warm weather, my car is still under about 1.5 feet of snow...

The high yesterday was 52°F and the low was 43°F, and I said "too cold to work on the car." Now I feel bad. Can't wait to see that thing get done (and see dyno charts on it ), should rock. It stays so warm here that I don't have the luxury of ditching air conditioning otherwise I'd likely have followed that path instead of the one I'm on.

Just for reference, I picked up a set of 36 lb/hr gtp injectors for $40, the gtp guys are just dying to get rid of those after they get the 42.5 lb/hr injector upgrade.

If it's any consolation, I just sent them of for $80 worth of cleaning services, tripling my total spent on them. Also, I hear they can be harder to tune on MPFI setups like the TGP code provides, something about dumping fuel at idle.

I finally understand what you mean by cutting a groove in the injector (wasn't quite sure before) as I went to try the fitment of the GTP injectors and the top part looks almost identical to the Ford injectors in the sense that I couldn't get the clip to go on. I don't know about the older motors, but the clips on mine definitely won't do their job if I don't put a groove in there.
