  • Code 43 Help

    Hey guys,

I'm at the LeMons race with my 3400 running on a 7730. This combination has been running great for almost 10 races. This time things could be going better. I have a code 43. I tried a new computer, new ICM, and new knock sensor. I also checked the knock sensor wiring. I'm getting 2.3-2.5V at the knock sensor pin. After every change the result is the same. Code 43 comes back 10 to 15 seconds after starting the car. When we were on track then it would stumble above 1/2 throttle. I'm at a loss for what to try next. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

getting that voltage with or without the knock sensor connected to the circuit? that's a normal value if connected, abnormal if it isn't.

assuming the new knock sensor isn't faulty(it happens), your MEMCAL is about the only thing left. it sounds like the knock filter itself may have failed.

      Thanks Robert!

That makes a lot of sense. I had forgotten that the knock sensor circuits are on the MEMCAL. I almost used the MEMCAL that came with the spare ECM but thought "these never go bad stick with the known good one". It sucks to miss out on the one dry day of New England LeMons racing this year but there's always next year. Thanks again man!
