  • Injector Question

Im building an n/a 3.1L with high CR and cam, etc. I was going to try to find some TGP injectors, but I was on ebay and found these

Their rating is a little higher than what I was wanting, but they "look" like the same injectors on the 3.1L. Does anyone know if these would work on a 3.1L, (with proper tuning, of course), like if they are the same height as stock 3.1L, stuff like that. TIA

as to the pysical fit, yes they will work.

but those are way overkill for a 3.1L N/A, im still running stock 3.1L injectors in my car. this summer with my SHIT Fastchips Chip, and my FPR cranked up to 60PSI i was dropping off the screen on the Dyno's wideband reading... i dropped into the 9:1 A/F ratio range... WAAAY too rich..

stock injectors are more than suffiecent, im running a Compression Ratio of around 11:1, and a big cam.
if your going to go with larger ones anyways get some that are 19#, 24# is a bit big.

talk to ben about the injector setup,

If what you are saying is correct about your set up, try 3300 V6 Injectors. They work out very well. They will be good till you get the car tuned for now. Anything higher, you'll flood the engine.

yeah, Brian told me about the 3.3L injectors being just a hair bigger than stock 3.1L. I just happened to see those and was just curious. Im going with 11.4 CR, I think thats what I calculated. I dont have the motor built by any means, Im just trying get everything in order. I already got a whole 3.1L for $35, which is a good start. I'll prolly run the Crane 272-2 port/polish heads and intakes, etc, and have Ben make a chip for me when time comes.

Do you guys think the stock 3100 fuel injectors will be sufficiant enough for a eaton M-90 supercharger and just get a fuel pressure regulator?95 3100 Hybrid eaton m-90 Supercharger off a 90 thunderbird.

The m-90 is a Roots type blower, none of which will fit our engines, or cars without heavy modding. (Anyone have a link to the one guy that actually did this?) If you want to S/C go with a centrifugal type blower instead. Good luck with the ECU tuning as well.

yeah, was it you that I told to buy the pistons when they were CHEAP?

no they will be too small, that is when you want to go up to a 24# or larger injector.

i actually have a M90 from a thunderturd and a 3400 engine i am working on combining both together. it is doable but not without extreme changes.
no i dont have pics.. sorry.

and pics will not be shown till its complete.
its going into my brothers 91 z24.

Damn, I forgot about that. Yeah, I should have gotten em then, all 6 for like $30, but then the rings are $90. I'll just wait til the pistons go on clearance again.......and I guess I'll wait til the cam goes on clearance too, if it ever does. Anyone know how much a new Crane 272-2 is?

theres a guy over on bstuff.com that welded a supercharger onto his intake manifold and all this other shit and somehow got it to work. although he has a supercharger poking through a hole in his hood.
