Personally, I'd be worried that the oil would drain out of the lines especially those with long lines that are mounted high in the engine compartment. If this is true, I'm not sure what the effect would be longterm....maybe no effect at all?

After sitting a week, my oil pressure pops right up. But after sitting 5 months thru the winter, it takes a while. I run the starter (separate from the ignition ket on my Austin) for a good 10 - 15 seconds before it comes up on the gauge. So anytime my car has sat for more than two weeks, I spin it with the starter motor until I see pressure, then turn on the key.Hamondale

For the oil to drain back it would have to beable to suck air in from some where. Most oil filter have check valves in them so the oil won't drain back.Seth

Agreed. My dune bugy has no problem and it goes throught a filter and a remote cooler. And that thing has a shitty oiling system to boot.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma
