Is there an off-the-shelf oil filter re-location kit for the 3.1?

One caution here, and I don't know the whole line of 660s, so I don't know if this applies. I have the 3.4L crate motor, and I had to locate my oil filter on the firewall due to header clearance problems. No room for a filter with my headers.
I bought a remote filter kit (~five years ago, I would have to dig thru receipts to maybe find the model #, might have been Transdapt or Moroso). The adapter that threads onto the block where the filter goes didn't fit. The adapter had a pair of bosses tapped with 1/2" NPT where the oil hose fittings screw into. These parts of the adapter stuck out farther than the diameter of the oil filter. On the block, on one side of the filter connection, there is a raised area in the casting. The bosses on the adapter hit the raised area after just a few turns when screwing the adapter on.
I had to grind the bosses down a lot to get it to screw on. So much that then too much of the pipe threads were gone, so I had to buy a 1/2" pipe tap and tap it deeper. I got it all fit up, spun the motor and oil started pissing out of the adapter. It was a porous POS casting, and my machining had broken into some pores so it leaked. They were so small I could barely see them. So I had to take it back off, and clean it up and find the leak spots. Drilled them out a little (kind of like dental work I suppose) and fill them with JB Weld, and put a thin coat of JB over the whole area.
That finally worked and no more problems, but what a pain in the ass. So - just something to look out for, if this might apply to your motor.

My adaptor threaded onto my 3.4l crate fine. I'm running custom headers, so the 1/2 NPT barbs included with the kit worked for me. From what I've seen of the stock manifolds, they shouldn't be in the way. However, I did use some elbows from the local hardware store to make my remote mount fit a bit better.

Um. Oil cooler.... On a J Body, I always remote mount the oil filter on the passenger's side under the splashguard, on the frame rail facing the passenger's fender. I'd have too get a pic, Dan Cotter wants one anyways too see the external oil regulation I have on mine.

My filter is easy to reach! Gives you an idea of how big the filter is and how I used some NPT elbows to turn the hose barbs around.

Check out my Porsche 914/V6 conversion in the engine swap area. My shift rod passes right thru where the oil filter should be.

Yup. And my K-member (engine cradle) is right in the way of the oil filter elbow. The filter on my motor mounted along the block. The 90* elbow housed the oil pressure sensor and the pressure relief valve. Fortunately, there is another relief valve in the block and I used some more Brass fittings from Ace Hardware to mount my oil pressure sending unit next to the remote filter mount. Its an old pic, so the sender isn't visible.

Anyone worried about oil starvation during start up? Just curious.
