  • Dynoed the Turbo Cavalier Wagon

Well, took the 91' Turbo Cavalier Wagon too the dyno today. It did better than I expected...

Got 229.1 Wheel HP and 261.7 wheel ft lbs on 6 psi. Not too shabby. The chip needs some additional tuning, it runs rich at idle, but leans out past 5000 rpm...

    Here is the dyno graph

Yeah those are sweet numbers Curtis, I'm suprised that its that high as well on 6psi! thats mint!

Likely be a 250-275 WHP with the 11#'s of boost

My 91' has the T4 .68 P trim / 60-1 turbo on it. I would have dynoed it, but since the boost control is screwy, it's trying too hit 16+ psi. Not that that is an issue, but I've never actually worked directly with the program at that boost level, so I'll dyno mine after tuning.

Give the graph an SAE adjustment subtracting about 5 hp/trq and the number still look great! Definitely a sleeper.

Thanks very much. Looks like a neat car-goes fast and hauls cargo too! Is that the Turbo GP engine in there, and is it auto or stick? I've got an '89 Cav wagon, and I'm looking for ideas for it.

It's actually a stock 3.1 block and heads, with the turbo manifolds and rebuild kit. It's a stick.
