So today I was taking the top end of the 95 Monte Carlo engine I got from my local bone yard.It ran when we took it out of the car.(The Monte also had a bunch of performance stickers in the windows.)But All I know is that the car was rear end totaled. The guys really had know other info for me.I am really good friends with a lot of the guys there so I know they are not BSin me.Well back to my question.I take the Upper and lower off intake off and I notice that some of the pushrods look shiney? The car only had 43k on it when it was mooshed. So I take a shiney one out of number six and I take a not shiney one out of six and they are not the same length. This car has the stamped rockers not rollers. So my question is this.....Are the factory pushrods the same length for both the intake and exhuast? What lenght should they be? If they are supposed to be the same length then I may have a regrind in the engine right? What other reason would they put different size pushrods in if its not a different cam profile?
I havent taken the cam out yet but if it is a regrind do they mark it some how?
Any help would be great.
