Hey whats up all!!! Working on a theory here, want to get some opinions. i have the 94 olds cutlass supreme with the 3100. and like everyone knows to get a reprogram for the engine computer is almost impossibe. anyway acdelco.com positively cross referenced my engine computer and the computer from the 94 camaro with the 3.4 vin "S" as the same part numbers. So i was wondering... they seem to be interchangable and im curious what would happen if i tried. i guess i might just have to plug it in, but i want to see if anybody knows anything. thanx!!

There are always several different PCMs that are used in several different cars. In fact, in the 80s and 90s, I'd bet 60% of all GM cars (4cyl thru 8cyl) all used the same ECMs (the infamous 7727/7730). With that said, the programming for the Camaro would be much different than what you would need for your 3100. If you can get one for free to test, it might be worth a try, but I wouldn't spend any money on it.

Iron head vs aluminum head...you do not want to even test that out. Way too much spark advance for the 3100 to run properly.

Yeah, that and there isn't anyone to reprogram that ECM either, so its not a step forward for aftermarket support (unless someone is programming them now and I don't know it).

I figured he was thinking he could get a Hypertech Power Programmer or something for it. I know they make them for the V8s, but I don't think they make them for the V6s, so yeah... not programmable anyway.
