  • Crane cam input???Needed

I was looking and found that crane offers a Powermax cam for the 60*.Can they be used with teh 3100 ?
    they are
    258/264 .401/.423 1000-4000 rpm
    or
    264/274 .423/.423 1500-4500rpm

anyone running one of these? What is your opinion? Are there any alernatives?
    Thanks

There are (at this current time) no aftermarket cams that can be used with a 3100/3400.

Yup all cams out there will only work on flat tappet motors. Wait for Comp they are apparently working on some.

You can install the flat tappet cam and lifters in the genIII block, you will need new pushrods, and a genI/II timing set however.

Fuck it. Flat tappet cams are a step backwards. Just wait a few months.

you could get your stock cam reground to those specs. you will likely need custom length pushrods though. or you could take the step back to gen 1/2 stuff, and put in a nice solid roller cam, that would be way better for power then a gen 3 hydralic roller, but requires more matinance.

betterthanyou is right, don't back step.
At least stay with roller tapets.
I say wait for comp or do a regrind.

If you want, I know where you can get a custom roller cam for a 3100/3400 right now for 400.

Well, if you are serious I can get you the info. I just don't want a lot of people asking them if they can have one, then backing out. I'd have too ask, but as far as I know it's a direct billet copy of the stock 3100/3400 cam. Not sure if they have it with both style cam sensor wheels, though. Just directly email me turboz24@swbell.net
