  • rod bolts?

I'm loooking for new rod bolts for 2.8L-3.4L rods.
I looked on summitracing and couldn't find any rod bolts.
Any one know where I can get rod bolts that are better than stock or some thing that I can replace them with?
Like maybe small jornal SBC bolts? But probly not.
    The bolts are 2.45'' long
    The shank is .33'' wide
    The lock is .362'' wide
    The bolt is a 13mm 12point
The threds are .351'' a definat 9mm with as good as I can tell 1mm threds (9mmX1mm).

Well can be 9mm they must be 10mm. The pitch I am not to sure of. ARP is your only hope for quality bolts otherwise use stock. There is nothing bad about the stock rod nuts and bolts on these babies.

The thred dia is 9mm (.351'' is what I got with my dial caliper)and I also found it in the chevy power manual stating thay they are 9mm.
9mm is just a hair bigger than the 11/32'' the standard SBC bolt.
      .351'' vs. .344''
I thought ARP would have some but they had every thing but 60-V6 bolts.
I hope GM put as much thought in the bolts as the rod being that it is forged and all. I'll get new stockers if I have to and get them treated.
Some time I'll call summit becasue I get better luck that way when it comes to 60*-V6 stuff.

Summit carries the ARP rod bolts that fit any 660 engine. Summit part number is ARP-133-6002, they are $48.99 for a set.

I usually have better luck finding the manufacturer's part number from their website, then searching Summit under Manuf. PN search.

I hope to have the ARP bolts on the 60V6 store as well. Id like to get the other bolts made though as well since they have the iron head studs, and the rod bolts. Not sure on mains and aluminum heads, or DOHC heads.

It'd be really cool if we could get ARP to make a set for the 60*V6s, even the oddballs(DOHC, ironhead, etc.) I know I'd be buying them.
