I was wondering witch motor came with the roller lifters or maybe if there is a aftermarket performance cam that allows for use of the roller lifters..

3100s and 3400s came with roller lifters. There are no, AFAIK, aftermarket roller cams for the 3100s. Regrinds are available though

What engine do you have now? If you have an engine without roller lifters then hydraulic roller lifters will not work. However you can use solid roller lifters and a roller cam. Crane and Comp both make them.

my 85 s-25 jimmy has a 2.8L with the edlebrok manifold and the holley 390 4-barrel carb... Automatic trans... .. just wasn't too sure what engines cam with it stock...

Yea you just have a plain jane hydraulic lifter cam. I would not recommend any solid lifter can for a street engine.

Something like a Crane 260-2 would be nice.

If you do any other internals, check out the crane 272-2

was giving some thougt to stroking it and maybe a blower... or adding some laughing gas...definatley roller rockers. an headers

look at schneider cams and lazer. Crane sells the lifters. Im talking about full race roller cams for Iron heads only.

If your on a budget the 272 hyd flat tappet from paw is they way to go with a blower. Im running a 272 with sbc z-28 valve springs rated to .520 lift , stock diameter, paw lifters,sbc 1.6 roller tip rocker arms and stainless valve set. I have just over 300 in my valvetrain. Roller cam your looking at 300 just for lifters, close to 1000 or higher to go roller(locks, lifters,springs,cam,retainers,etc,not including valves). You decide.

One thing i always wondered is what is the difference between solid (roller) lifter cams and hydraulic (roller) lifter cams? What would happen if you used a cam meant for solid lifters with hydraulics?

Comp is currently working on valve train line including N/A Boost and Nitrous cams.
