Sorry for the size...
I've obtained some prices/part numbers for the 3500/and 3400 Equinox. The prices I belive are discounted. Some interesting parts here...
-The Cylinder heads are the shared but they seem to be directional.
Left-12576367 $270
Right-12575080 $220
The exhaust manifold system for the Equinox appears to be the same as the Minivan/Ncar/Wcar-'97+. But it is enlarged its openings to 2.25 or 2.5, not sure. This would be a great upgrade in concert with the new cylinder heads. They are pricey though......Best bet Junkyard in the future.
Left-12587594 $400
Right-12575489 $330
Crossover-12587094 $300
Heatshield-12575493 $30
Heatshield-12575495 $22
No Crossover heat shield
Also not the new 5 speed transmission, Don't know where that came from....
I've noticed the upper intake of the 3400 is rather large...the best thing I can say about it is that it kinda looks like a big slab of stone! Oil pan is the same, as is the front cover. Torsion Damper is different. New provisions for and oil filter adaptor, new flexplate..seems like its 2 piece??, new DIS tone wheel, bolted conrods, it would seem the 3400 has a shim under the rockerstand I suppose a different cam profile..., piston oil jets for the 3500, and a permenant tamperproof pcv valve.
I'd assume the new 3400 is very torque biased since it does seem to move the Equinox pretty well over the minivan or Rendevous. I'm sure the 5 speed auto also helps.
The only thing left to verify is the Large runner lower intake manifold relative to '99-'04.
I'd post some scheamitcs I obtained but my computer isn't cooperating at the moment.
