Has anyone on here fabbed up a new downpipe? In the next few weeks ill be finally doing my exhaust and will be doing a downpipe/flex pipe. Just curious...

Well latley I've been pontificating on how the downpipe on the pushrods engines are way too small. Even on the most worn 2.8, there is a definate gain. How much? Who the fuck knows, all I know is that it works a hell of a lot better than making a catback 2.5. The head pipe is the biggest restriction. 2inches is too small. The easiest way to make a pipe is to have the shop mimick the design, reuse the old flange.Lorenzo

I just got my SS welding wire in and I am waiting for a nice day to go out with the plasm torch and welder.
I'm going to use the old stock flange from the turbo I'm useing and weld a 3'' pipe on to it. It will only be about 1 foot long becasue I will have to have the car to fab up the rest of the piping. There will be one on each side because of it being TT. It's not a hole exhaust but it's a strong start.Seth
