Hmm well with an H260 you would be pushing the limits of emissions. It would be a challenge to make that cam pass. What all has been done to this motor? Come on spill the beans

Actually Brad, I've only gotten a 14.72 out of mine so far. I have had a better mph though at 94.92 MPH.
The car I'm sure would've done better this year with the new exhaust. It certainly feels better, but the trans just doesn't work good enough to take it to the track anymore.
I've been slacking this year, with all of my money going towards a new house, in ground pool, fence, all new furniture, etc, etc......
But I've got my new tranny waiting to go in, and have some new projects on the way, so I'm hoping next year will be a better one.
Oh, and congrats on the awesome time 14sec!!

i'm pretty sure they are the same thing. FX1 is just the rpo code for the 3.94 fdr.

they have a $45 all you can carry out parts day at a nearby junkyard. wrapped some weather stripping around it, and carried it like a backpack

                              FDR: 3.94:1

I went around town talking to tranny shops about just doing it for me because I'm not too kean on shimming the diff myself. went to one shop and he told me it's basically the same as a rebuild and that not all the case bolts will line up and that there is a super amount of preload on the case which will make the job $550. I smiled and said "are you sure?" and he nodded and I said "well I have one of them in the back of my car here now, case cracked open and it only took about 45 minutes with hand tools."
                              eat a dick.

                                I'm 6-1 and 250...

I'm deciding between a 3.94 box with 1.02 4th and a 284 for my Fiero... The 284's geared a lot closer in the lower gears, but has a 3.67 diff, while I'd like something a bit deeper.

In that app the thing I really want to stay away from is the 3.77 1st/2.15 2nd combo.
What cars had the 3.50 1st and 2.15 2nd combo?

Excessive preload on the case? What kind of BS line is that guy trying to feed you?
