get the heads, intakes, exhaust manifolds, crossover pipe for exh. downpipe flange for exh.

Power steering pump for a 3X00, front timing cover (due to p/s flange)
    throttle body, fuel rail,
    coolant pipes,
    ect, ect.

run the engine off the original 3.1L computer, use the stock 3.1L wiring harness for the injectors, your best off running the 3.1L injectors as well, i run my engine the exact way, on 45PSI fuel pressure, i still have enough fuel to run properly, i dyno'd my car this summer while at 60PSI fuel pressure and i was running 9:1 A/F ratio...

the way i did my egr, is i just have the electrical connector plugged into the EGR, and not connected to the engine, i dont have emissions testing where i live, so i didnt bother with the headache of trying to modify the egr to work... bah.

basically just swap the whole top off one engine onto yours. fairly easy to do.

get all the brackets for things such as throttle body, map sensor, ect ect. you'll need a beretta throttle cable from a 3100 engine as well to work with the new throttle body.
your lucky as the 3100 came in the Lbodies, so things like coolant hoses and other things came made to fit your engine bay.

your going to have issues with making sure you have a t.v. or kickdown cable for the auto trans.

i dont think any 3100 came with a non electronic shift trans. you'll need to custom fabricate a braket piece for the auto trans cable, and use a throttle body that has an attachment point.

anyone remember if the early 94-95 3100 equiped cars had non electric shift trans? with a kickdown cable?? i cant remember if they did or not.
im thinking of the old early cutlas ciera style cars and whatnot, as im wondering if they used that setup.

you have to find a certain type of throttle body that has the arm for it, and you have to find a bracket that has the opening for the cable. You can use the stock kickdown cable if you just cut the end off, and get a special kit that allows you to attach teh cable to the arm. If you already have the right bracket, adn throttle body, then the total cost of it all is just $10.00 (the price of the kit that has the end that is needed to attach the cable to the throttle body).

I did it to my car, and it worked fine. I now have the 4T60-E tranny in my car because I blew up the 440-T4.

Well, you can use a throttle junction box from a quad4 auotmaic car (pre-92) in order to route your kickdown cable, I've done it twice so far for people...

this is the box you would need to do this (my friend mike holding it)

this is how it fits under the hood ---

this is what you have to modify on the throttle body bracket...

The 1994 3100 throttlebodies do have a provision for a 3rd cable, but I've never seen a car which used it...

Would there be any difference between a 2.8 3400 top end swap vs. 3.1 top end swap? There has got to be some sort of difference.. at least in the power section.

a 2.8 is the same as a 3.1 with a different crank resulting in a smaller stroke
also different pistons resulting in a 8.9 compression ratio
you would not gain as much on a 2.8 with a top end swap but if you wanted to get you 2.8 rebuilt into a 3.1

hey guys, i have alot of these parts if someone is interested. i have complete 01 3400 heads with rockers and valve covers, upper and lower intake, timing cover. sorry i junked the exhuast manifolds yesterday. all this came off of my sisters good running 01 van that she let get low on oil and spun a rod. i also have a throttle body and bracket off the 04 grand am donor motor. im looking to see what this stuff is worth so i can make some one a good deal on it. let me know if you are interested in any of it.

                        thanks,
