  • 96 factory 3100 heads/intake on 89 Grand Prix 2.8L

I know you can get GEN III heads from GM and bolt them onto a 2.8 motor but will the GEN III heads on a 96 3100 also work?

Im sure i would figure this out once i took them apart but which set of pushrods/lifters etc do i use? the ones on the 2.8 or on the 3100?

Also will a 3100 throttle body work or do i adapt the 2.8 throttle body to the 3100 intake?

Sorry lot o questions, thanks for you help!

yes they will work. you will need to swap the entire top end over. you use the 2.8l lifters, but you will need custom pushrods made (there is no way around it).

the 3100 throttle body will work just fine

Hey thanks for the info. Does anyone know how to get pushrods for the setup? or is there a write up somewhere on how to make them?

Can I just give them an application and they will make them or do i need specs?

Is the 2.8 different than the 3.1? I just re-used my stock pushrods, and they work just fine. They looked to be the right length to me. I didn't use a pushrod measurement tool, but they fit like they did before, and I've had no problems 1000 mi later. Although, I re-used my rocker arms as well, so maybe thats why?
