Would the 3X00 heads & intake be too big for a Gen 2 2.8?

do you mean to much airflow??? if thats what you mean, no. the 2.8l has a smaller stroke and it a more rev happy engine, and makes the power up high. the restriction on the 2.8 (and 3.1l, but not as noticable being the powerband is lower) is the heads. with a good set of 3x00 heads, it will make a pretty potent little motor.
