Can I use Gen III heads and intake with Gen II pistons? I'm sure you can, but I want to make absolutly sure. Will there be any problems? Thanks!

Yes, I have aftermarket stock replacement 3.1 (genII) pistons in my genI block that has genIII heads, and have done so for over a year now.

This does drop your static compression ratio though, if you were to use the stock aluminium head gaskets with the genII pistons, then you will end up with a SCR of about 8.9:1, but if you use the genII pistons with an iron head head gasket you can raise the SCR back up to about 9.3:1, which I will be doing next, when I swap to the larger port top end. BTW you can't (safely) use the iron head gaskets with the genIII pistons.
