  • 2000 Bu 3100

I have a 2000 Mali, and I was wondering if I could use a 98+ upper intake from a 3400? Also, I was wondering if the 2000+ 3100 TB were changed to 56 instead of 52mm?

My problem is that my Malibu is my daily driver, and I don't really have time to build up a 3400 and take a few days to drop it in. I am the computer guy for a private high school, so taking time off doesn't come until summer.

Any other recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated.

Also I spent about 500 bucks this weekend at Best Buy and installed a new stereo myself. Got an Aiwa 208 watt mp3 head unit, 2 10in Sony Explodes, and a 444 Sony amp. I'll post picks as soon as possible....
If it doesn\'t go fast, make it!!!

A 00+ 3100 top end is the exact same as a 3400 top end (any year) with the exception of the 1 and 4 on the label. So getting a 3400 plenum would just be a waste of money. As far as TBs go, I want to say when they changed the plenum design (2000), they also went to the larger TB, but I could be wrong. Easiest way to figure it out would be to just measure your plate (can be done with the TB still installed).

Yes, but there is a chance you will have to mod them to clear your firewall. I've heard other people say that with this year of car, you will not have to though.

What about the EGR mount change in 2000?

But as Brad has said changining t=it to a 3400 plenum would be pointless.

Do you know of any other company's that make headers for them? I have had a really good experience with PaceSetter's and would like to support them if I could....
