  • Making a 3400 RWD

    Ive got a 89 S10 3.4 supercharged /propane fueled setup. Its been running amazing for 7 years now. So now I want to upgrade to a 3500 aluminum heads. QUESTION: Do you simply flip the intake manifolds 180* to point the inlet forward and not into the fire wall?
    Thanks.

      Yep

      There is a tab on your timing cover that you'll have to cut off to make the intake sit right, no big deal.
      Past Builds;
      1991 Z24, 3500/5 Spd. 275WHP/259WTQ 13.07@108 MPH

      Current Project;

        Thanks guys. Neat little trick. I notched the 3.4 intake to fit a distributor. Do you think it will be possible to do the same on the 3500 intake?

          No... And the last time I tried that with a 3400 intake it blocked the runner for #6...

              Or just run the DIS setup that already fits on the 3.4L...There are aftermarket controllers out there for it.

                Do you have a RWD 3.4? The starter is on the left side of the block on a 3500.
                Current:
                \'87 Fiero GT: 12.86@106 - too dam many valves; ran 12.94 @ 112 on new engine, then broke a CV joint
                \'88 Fiero Formula: slow and attention getting; LZ8 followed by LLT power forthcoming
                \'88 BMW 325iX: The penultimate driving machine awaiting a heart transplant

                Gone, mostly forgotten:
                \'90 Pontiac 6000 SE AWD: slow but invisible

                    Ok. The 3500 starter is still on the left.
