  • Easiest way to drop compression on 3.4 (1995 F-Body)

Aside from swapping out the pistons for some dished ones I was curious as to how many others have dropped the compression on their motors without major rebuilds. I'm looking to get about 8.5:1 CR for my blower just for safety/reliability reasons

Got boost? I\'ll have it soon enough.

You could use head gaskets from an aluminum head motor. Dont forget that changing the cam will also affect the compression in the cylinders.

thicker head gaskets is the easyest way. aluminum head head gaskets are a bunch thicker i beieve and should drop it down a bit.

stock, your motor is only 8.9:1, and you realy shouldnt have much of a problem with it for a low boost setup(around 12lbs). if you go any higher that needs lower compression, id be putting some forged slugs in it, as cast pistons dont like a ton of boost.
