    i think the 2000+ grand ams 3400 heads are the same as the 2000+ 3100 heads right? both aluminum from my understanding. so i have a 3100. and i want to do a 3400 top end swap. is their a difference between a 3400 topend swap or a NEWER 2000+ 3100 swap? or does it matter?



    should i use 99 grand am intakes or 2000+ intakes? i heard that the newer intakes are better somehow....





    whats a really good gasket set i should get for my car if i use the 3400 parts???

    3100 and 3400 upper and lower intakes are excatly the same 2000+, only difference is the lettering on the plenum

    keep in mind upgrading to those intakes you will need to block off your EGR.

      If I block off the EGR then how do I pass emmisions? I'm in California and they get very cranky when people tamper with emissions parts.

        You dont need to block off EGR. Just make an adaptor plate.

          i will need an adapter plate. still i can't find a person who i can pay to make me one. which sucks.

                    get the 3400 heads they are slightly bigger than the 3100 ones and then get the 00+ 3100 intakes and get them P&P. oh btw u dont really need to get the heads off a 3400 it wont really be an noticable difference unless u get stage 2 heads ect.

                        '00+ 3100 heads are the exact same as all of the 3400 heads. Unless you are talking pre-'00 3100 heads........

                          stage 2 heads would be like heads that are P&P 5 way valve job, milled heads, ls1 valve springs stuff like that

                              why not use the 3400 heads and keep you 3100 upper plenum?? or if you want the 3400 plenum get a 97-99 upper plenum from like the dealer.the 97-99 3400 upper intake should work as far as you needing your EGR to work. i passed emissions with my car not having an EGR but you have tail pipe emissions like i do so you might be able to pass. what are your test limits???

                              just wondering where did you get a chip from?? my friend looked for one for his 94 GP,and from my understanding 3100s ECU dosn't have a chip. i never owned a 3100 but this is what i heard.
