    …I don't think a 700R will stand a chance against a 5spd- I've run both - day & night

Not sure if the stock GM carb manifold will work better or not but GM mentions the stock manifold can be modified to mount a 2bbl Holley.

As for the TV cable it really should not matter what carb you have. There are plenty of universal brackets that will help you get set up. TCI, Holley and Jet are just a few who make them.

I did not have good luck with the edelbrock manifold for my hill climb truck.
The eddy is way down on WOT power compared to the modified TBI intake.
        - 3 ports on the eddy are half-sized to boost towing torque
I needed WOT power, not towing mid-range for my application

My build is going to be a street cruiser...zero racing...and other than intake, distributor, and headers it's going to be a stock engine. Actually, the main reason for going with the Edelbrock is that I got it nearly new for what I'd have to pay for a bone yard TBI manifold...and still have to modify it, and still have the same TV hookup issues.
