anyways, back to my last question, does anyone know what my compression ratio will end up being if i was to get the Sealed Power (Fed-Mog) pistons???

will it still be simular to the stock 8.5:1???

All of the off-the-shelf pistons available (Sealed Power, Silvolite, etc) will be stock specs, so your compression ratio will not change. If you want to bump compression, you will need to go custom, or mill the heads/block more.

Stock compression being 8.9:1 on all 3.1L NA engines if I'm right.

ok thanx, i guess ill have to wait till i actualy get my 3.1 ironhead and the cam i plan to run, and figure out what i will have for piston-valave clearance before i can figure out how much i will be shaving off.

id like to get 9.5-10:1, but i dont know if it will be possible to get that high just by shaving the block and heads.

Lol. Nobody makes forged steel pistons, they would weigh to much and would get way too hot.

Where does it say "forged steel?" I see forged, but I don't see steel. And they sure look like aluminum to me...

Yeah...JBP...a real safe source for accurate information. They also list the crank as a "981 Cast Iron Nodular Forged Melonite Treated Crankshaft". So which is it, cast iron, or forged? What a bunch of idiots.

Its simple: the pistons are forged aluminum, and the crank is cast iron.

I would have to believe the pistons are aluminum. Iron pistons havent been used on any engine in eons.

Do you have any pictures of the pistons?
