im looking for some aftermarket pistons for a 3.1l camaro. does anyone know who makes them all i can find is federal mougal cast replacments. im looking for hypereutectic (would perfer) or forged, and im lookinf in the range on 9.5:1, but if you know of anything, post it pls. i dont want ot have to get custom pistons made, but at this point it could be my only option.

ok, but your betetta had aluminum heads on it right??? i dont ever remember a beretta with a gen 1 motor.

im talking about a gen 1 ironhead 3.1l, like a camaro used in 90-92, not a gen 2 aluminum head 3.1l like in all the fwd cars.

ok well after more searching, i found the trw pistons in hypereutectic, so im good. looks like project "f*cking fast ironhead" is a go.

now i just have to get a "f*cking slow" ironhead to start with, lol

Sealed Power (Fed-Mogul) does have hyerpeutectic, skirt coated pistons for your 3.1 iron head. I've had a set before in my aluminum head motor for higher compression.

the forged steel pistons. fact is, there is no such thing as forged steel pistons for in most gasoline engines. ther are forged aluminum, steel would weigh a ton.

anyways, does anyone know what compression i would end up with the federal mogul pistons??? are they just the stock 8.5:1??? im realy looking for something higher than that, and i dont wanna have to take a ton off the deck/heads to make up for it.

                            hmmm, forged steel pistons.

my question is why??? are you running something stupid like a 250 shot of nitrous, or 30+ lbs boost???
