  • Cone Air Filter is LOUD

    Hey guys,

First let me say that this is for a 24 Hours of Lemons racecar not a street car. We took a hit in the side, where the stock air intake is on a Fiero and destroyed it. So as a replacement I went down to auto parts store and grabbed a cheap Spectre cone filter and 90 fitting. That fitting was terrible, absolutely no short side radius, so it was replaced with PVC from Home Depot. All would be well except that the filter is right next to the drivers head and it's pretty annoying. Anyone tried to quiet one of these things down? Any experience is appreciated.

thats just how cones are... would need to isolate it acoustically or move it elsewhere, not much else that can be done.
