  • Got most of it together

OK got most of my motor together pisons new brgs, seals ect ect.. when i first took the motor apart, and moved the crank it moved quite easy i guess since it was broken in?.. now i got new pistons and rings installed it was all bored and honed.. is it normal to have somewut of alot of force to move it now. since the rings r new and the bores r. o yea and is it normal to have the # 1 cyl timed nd also the # 4 up at top dead center at the same time?

this is my first rebuild its not the best or fastest but here r some pics if i can get em to work

It is normal for the pistons to be at TDC at the same time. If you notice, every time there is one piston at TDC another one is also at TDC. That is why there are 3 coil packs and not 6. It can fire 2 cylinders at the same time because the pistons are in the same place.

    Looks like a nice rebuild!

thanks hope everything goes ok! wut about how hard it is to turn the motor? not hard hard but is that normal. o yea 1 more thing when i took the connecting rods down to the machine shop to have the new pistons pushed on i lost there locations, but all the caps r on the right rods, hope the locations dont matter but all the caps r in original spots

I'm not sure about how easy it should be to turn over a new engine because I have never built one, however the engine should easily turn over with under 75ft.lbs of torque normally, so I would imagine it would be right around there with a new engine.

as long as its not binding up, it should be kinda hard to turn. new rings in a fresh bore make the motor stiff. sis the crank turn freely when it was in by itself??? if so, its fine.

If that is the Madonna overlooking your rebuild, you should have no problems! Looks good! Very clean!

you will be sorry. itll take some work, but its differintly worth it. i think its good for about 20hp over the stock gen 2 heads.

Every engine has 2 cylinders at TDC at the same time. Unless it is a 1, 2 or 3 cylinder.

long as the crank turned over VERY easily you should be alright there. You did use some assembly lube like STP or something right?
