  • Injector replacement help

This may be a stupid question but here goes. I have a stock 3.1 in a 95 Lumina, I have 1 bad injector, can I use an Accel 17 pounder as an inexpensive replacement? This car is really just a beater and I can save some money since I have access to the injector. Help a guy save a buck please.

id jsu tgo to the junkyard and grab an injector or 2. if the car is a beater, dont waste your money on good injectors. besides, those motors run rich anyways, why waste gas by throwing bigger injectors at it???

The junk yards here charge more than I paid for the Accel unit(practically free). Do you have access to a cheap injector source? These guys must be making a fortune.

no i dont, but my local junk yard wants $20 for an injector (canadian dollars).

i wouldnt put in just one different injector. it will cause the one cylender to run rich, and the o2 sensor will pick it up and lean everything out. it will lean the rest of the cylenders, but the one will stay slightly rich.
