I have a 3.5 with a WOT strip cam and valve springs. After 3 races I had an issue. A push rod has come out. No damage to anything that I can see. Lifter is fine and I can't compress the top piston of the lifter. Push rod is fine. Rocker arm is good and no issues with the bolt. Valve moves fine? Any ideas? I don't want this to end anther race. Thanks

By any chance did you disasemble and upgrade the lifter springs?
I bought a car off a member that had a similar cam with stiffer valve springs and upgraded lifter springs. The car had a rod knock and in the initial tear down I noticed a pushrod that poped out and was laying there. Unfortunately that was not the cause of the knock, but I did find it odd.2000 Grand Am GT

You may want to look close at the valve spring on that valve. Seems to be some reports of comp cam valve springs failing, it may not be easy to see the failure. The self guided rockers rely on little tabs that ride on either side of the valve stem to keep them allinged, it is good until you float them, then thing go really wrong. Larry
