Detroit sold vehicles with interval maintenance service instructions for those that required break-in procedures, while also explaining the do's and dont's for the first XXXX miles. My 92 temp came with that info and so did the Reliant commuter vehicle that we owned.Lifting my front wheels, one jack at a time.

Don't click a link in that post just in case. It's a spammer that made it through registration. Whenever you see posts like that click the "report this post" link to report it to Brad so he can deal with it. I've already done it for this post.

You don't need any voodoo art or spring swapping with the seat pressures we are running here. A bottle of conventional oil and the additive that comes with the cam is all you will need. If you do a 2000RPM to 3000RPM break in with a bit of fluctuation during the procedure your good to go. If it does not work and the cam fails then is was a shitty cam and/or lifter set anyway and you should chuck it in the garbage. Remember that big blocks and small blocks have the same size lifter diameter and lobe size and they are able to break in and survive with much higher spring pressure and valve train weight.1993 EXT.
