Yes, I have had my heads milled .040 to increase the compression, changed to a cam with more lift and duration, installed roller rockers and built a shallow oil pan. I'm very fortunate in that I have a good friend that is a machinist and I just sent him the manifold, a TBI gasket for the 4.3 and he did it for me. I'm pretty sure it could be done on a drill press providing you are able to clamp it solid and square. If you need a set of Fiero valve covers, let me know, I have 3 extra sets.

Thanks for the offer on the valve covers, but I have a set ready to be painted. They were one of my first purchases.

If you have all the injection gear, it would give you reliable starting and economical running to just leave it on there.

On a rod, you could always find yourself any old 4 bbl or even a supercharger top cover, epoxy some studs to the upper injection plenum and bolt the intake camouflage to that.....

Actually, I really like the looks of the MPFI manifold & throttle body, my issue is with the MAF sensor, the tubing needed to connect it to the throttle body, and and to a lesser extent all the ECU related wiring. I'd not even consider getting rid of the MPFI set up if I could get rid of the MAF sensor, and just put an air cleaner directly on the throttle body.

You can keep the wiring and mess to a minimum. Here is a 3.4 I mounted in an old MG chassis.
