    Finally got to light up the carbed 3.1 Fiero engine. Started up easily an ran really nice, doesn't want to idle below about 1,100 or so, but I guess the cam just doesn't like to go slow. It does sound good for sure. Larry

    your cam isn't that large so it should be able to idle down some more. I think like 900 or so it should do. You might have a tiny vacuum leak, or you just have to get it warmed up a bit more before the idle comes down. Adjust the choke maybe?

      I've checked closely, not much to leak on this one. I think the issue is the small lobe seperation angle on this cam, it gets down to about 1,100 or so then starts lopeing, much slower and it will die, it doesn't quit like it is lean, it just can't seem to run any slower. I will hook up a vacuum gauge and see what it is pulling when it starts going bad. Larry
