  • need more low end power!

I have an '03 malibu I'm starting to mod. I have the cone air filter and I did notice it seemed like it gained something with the egr blocked off but now it's got the check engine light for it and I feel like I lost the power I gained. That's the only two things I have done. I am looking for other modifications I can do to make this car my weekend fun car. I have only ever had imports for the street scene but wanting to try something new seeing as nobody here has done anything at all with an everyday chevy. I am not doing an engine swap right now, and I am looking into boosting in the future (probably when winter comes). If you have any ideas to start gaining power (especially in the low end, top end seems really strong) please let me know. Just did all the intake seals. Thank you!

If you removed the EGR and blocked it off, you will need to have the computer tuned to avoid the check engine light.
As you are not wanting to swap out the engine a cam is probably out of the question, so I would recommend the following:

Ported Upper and Lower Intake Manifolds
    62mm or 65mm Throttle Body
Tuned computer with EGR delete and transmission adjustments
    Headers
    2000 Grand Am GT
    2011 Chevy Impala

"The world's best cam combined with a poor set of heads will produce an engine that's a dog. But bolt on a set of great heads even with a poor cam, and that engine will still make great power." ~John Lingenfelter
