Im setting up a 93 model 3100 for my Fiero..Its getting a cam as well..Im going to use the Iron heads and the intake from the 2.8..How would she run with the dish ,aluminum head pistons..Comp ratio with the stock 3.1 pistons and Iron heads vers Comp ratio if I get the 3.1 iron head pistons..Will it be a huge difference?

Not to mention you would get rid of half the things that make a Fiero unreliable, like the coil/ICM, distributor, squeaky accessory belt...
And you would be saving the cost of new pistons and any cost to install them, and make plenty more power...
The only real downside I can see is that the coolant would take longer to fill since you can't remove the thermostat for filling, you would have to spend a few hours wiring and you wouldn't be able to qualify for collectors plates (could you anyway with a 3.1??).'89 Firebird, 3500 Turbo, T56, 9-bolt/4.11

Im doing the engine build myself, first v6 I have done..I pulled the 3.1 myself back in the spring, someone else robbed the intake..The only reason Im doing the build is my 2.8 has wore out wristpins.I figured why not increase the output a little and do the 3.1 block since it is a free motor..I have a second 3.1 that I will take more time with and set it up for power and then find another fiero to put it in..

Since you said it's a '93 i'm assuming it's a gen 2 and not a gen 3. In that case i'd just stay with your plan. Toss in some 3.1 Camaro pistons, put on your iron heads and enjoy a running car.
