It clears the Disrtib because it basically uses a plentum covering each bank and fed by the center crossover. I wanted to shorten up the effects of the runner length as much as I could for high RPM power. The carb is oriented the way it is to keep it working the way it was designed in a car it was built for. With the cam it has it will not idle worth beans anyway. Larry
