I noticed the 3500 has the same size rod journals as the 3500, anyone use 3800 rods in their 3500? I know special pistons would probably be in order, anything else I'm missing?

Well you need to find out the big end width in order to know if it will fit the crank. The pin size, like you mentioned, does not really matter since you can design a piston to accommodate it. The length needs to be within the ballpark of a 3500 rod in order to avoid a piston with a pin in the ring lands or a compression height that is super tall. Find 3800 rod specs and you will have your answer.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

I looked, and I think I may have found the news I didn't want to find, I'm going to call eagle tomorrow and see for sure what the width is on the buick rods, but the source I have now says they are .845 wide vs the LX9's .866"I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I have broken with society for reasons which I alone am able to appreciate. I am therefore not subject to it's stupid laws, and I ask you to never allude to them in my presence again."
