Finally got around to installing and starting my 86 Fiero with my mildly upgraded engine. It's a 3400 out of a 2005 Equinox (LNJ), downgraded externally to run on a 98 OBDII PCM. I pulled the engine to check the trans (which happened to blow out some teeth on the final drive) and decided to throw in a cam, valve springs, and larger injectors.
Problem is I think I messed something simple up because the car misfires and backfires a bit. Here are a couple meh videos of the first starts and it running. When driving it misfires a lot more (causing a flashing CEL). Sadly the DLC doesn't seem to work anymore (did before I pulled the engine) so I also need to figure that out so I can read the codes and make sure everything is kosher.
Any thoughts on what to check? I'm worried it's mechanical and not PCM related. Either a sticking exhaust valve or the timing chain is off by 1 tooth. PCM was retuned by Sinister Performance for the mods at hand.
