  • Head Bolts

    On a 95 3100 SFI i am changing the heads to a set of 1998 just wondering if you have to change the head bolts.To change the heads.Not sure if there the ones that stretch and are only good for one tourque.Thanks

    You don't NEED to change them, but it is a VERY good idea to change them because they do in fact stretch.

      it is highly recommended to change them as they are a torque to yeild bolt..

      but i know countless people (and have done it myself many many times) who have reused them. however its best to replace them if you can.

        if you have the money, and you want this engine to last for a long time... pay the $35.

        if this is a temporary build, or if you dont care... reuse. Id suggest getting a tap to clean out the headbolt holes M11x1.25? something like that.. and coat both the threads and undersides of the bolt heads with engine oil.
