  • coolant temp. sensor

i was just wondering if i can change the cts in my 3100 v6 to the one they offer at jeg's they offer for a Lt1 motor? it turns the fans on at 180 degrees, off at 220. will they fit and how do i hook it up because i have two wires to my sensor and don't know how.

The ECM turns on the fans. Not sure how the LT1 works, even though I figured it would be the same. Maybe the sensor readas a higher temp and thus gives a signal to the ECM of 220º when its actually only 180º. Doesn't really seem like the best idea to me...

Why not just put a manual switch in so you can turn the fan on whenever you want?

because i want the fans to come on by them selves without me turning them on and off and beside i don't know off to do that.

The only thing I can think of is the internal resistance of the sensor may be different changing what the ECM would register. Just fooling the ECM into turning the fan on and off.
