  • Sappy, Superdave, i need to pick your brains!!!

Ok guys (and others that would like to help me), i have a couple questions!!! As a preface, i an running a 3.1 in my Beretta that is running a Comp cam 260 grind, 1.6:1 rockers, and the WOT chip.

One, i need to replace my fuel pump and i remember reading that i can use a 91 or something Camaro fuel pump in place of my stock Beretta pump (because it flows more???)...is this so???

Two, and this is more for Sappy, when my chip was made to accomodate the cam, was the fueling increased??? If so, is this maxing the duty cycle of my stock injectors??? In either case would it help to run the TGP 22# or a set of 3800 36# injectors???

Thanks for your help Ben and Dave (and whomever replies)!!!

There is more fuel, but it won't be maxing out the injectors unless you add headers or gen 3 top end swap, or something along those lines. The fuel pump is likely a corvette pump from 91 or so. Its the same as a grand prix, grand am, achieva, etc. You just replace the pump inside the assembly, and a new filter. You can get a walbro 255lph pump if you want, but you really don't need more fuel than the stock replacement pump is capable of.

I know you can use a 1992 camaro with a 350 fuel pump. And it will install easy. It's the same price from rock auto.
I still have a stock delco in my 3400/3500.So i agree with ben stock should be fine.G/L

the aftermarket replacement pump for the TPI-350 Camaros/Corvettes is actually the same pump as they aftermarket one for the Cavaliers/Berettas, well same ratings anyways at 190 LPH which is plenty for a 3.1. The price difference is likely any packaged hardware or a marketing price adjustment.

If you want something that's way overkill (and the same price) get one for a 91 Syclone/Typhoon, they fit just like stock and are 255 LPH. Just make sure to get the correct sock for your car's tank.
