  • Will this Cam work?

    http://wot-tech.com/shop/all/mpg/tor.../prod_240.html

The above is the Torque/MPG camshaft. I am looking at purchasing that sometime in the next few months. My car is completely stock except for Sportsman port and polish intake manifolds. (upper and lower)

I want to be sure that this is safe for a basically stock application.

I will be sending in for a mail order tune after this is installed.

    Thanks for the help.

according to the site, you would require different valve springs, seats, and possibly seals, and possibly push rods. i dont know about a mail order tune being usfull at all but email tuning my be more appropriate, as in running it up and data logging and giving that info to someone to customize a tune.

Thanks for the clarification. I was a little bit confused since it had mentioned it *could be used stock, but gave so many options. No big deal...it probably would not have helped much with MPGs anyway.

More tourqe at less rpm=better fuel economy. I wouldn't throw it past me if you could use the stock valve train parts. Have to pm Ben, or screen name slappySE107

Sent from my iPhone using my iPhone at work cuz I have nothing to do

Oh, the Slappy did not register in the forum, so I assumed it was "sappy".

Youll need different springs and longer pushrods. Stock springs will not work with any cam.

I emailed Ben and was advised that it would be best to upgrade the parts involved to get the most out of product.
It would be roughly $500 or so all said and done for the parts. Then I would need a tune which would have to be mail-order since I have no shops in my area that do proper real-time tunes.
