  • 7K+ RPM on OBD-II?

    Everyone -

    Just curious -
Does anyone rev to 7K RPM or more on a GM OBD-II PCM?
Seems like the airflow, fueling and spark tables stop at 6400(rpm).
I have read stories from others in the L67/L32 crowd (I know, gasp!, but it's the same type of PCM) that at 6800rpm, the motor just falls over like it doesn't know what to do.
I'm sure there are some OBD-I guys going it.

That transmission falls flat on its face, the design of a fwd trans is its fault

Sent from my iPhone using my iPhone at work cuz I have nothing to do

    Its runs!!!>>>Aint No 60* Sound Like Mehttp://youtu.be/YKEmNwa141U

if you have a cam to pull it off and a trans that can support it you could do it for a drag car.

WOT NA Race cam and a 6-speed stick. Definitely not a drag car. More for road racing.

when you go beyond the RPM limits in a PCM, what happens is that the highest RPM column/row is used for all calculations. works this way in OBD1 and OBD2, unless something like the OBD1 high RPM spark adder stuff is present, in which case, there can still be changes made.

L67/L32 fall flat on their overweight asses at high RPM because their heads can't flow enough air to make power at those speeds.
