3900 LZ9 head gaskets: stock vs cometic

Does anyone knowhow the stock shim gaskets on a 3900 LZ9 compare to those that Cometic sells?

I didn't realize that the new ones are a stainless Multi layer shim.

The question now is which is better suited for boost.

Anyone have any experience??

They are both multilayer steel gaskets are superior to previous composite gaskets with or without boost. I've never dealt with cometic gaskets but can't imagine their gaskets being any better than the O.E. MLS gaskets except that they are available in different thickness.

Has anyone reused the shim gaskets? I'm thinking I can spray copper gasket maker and reuse them. I don't see any indication of yielding or deformation of the gasket.

gasket of diff thicknesss ?????In my time the easiest way of raising the compression was to shave the heads off by a couple of milimeters now a thinner gasket would do the same where to buy and aprox how much...This info would really bee interresting for all
