  • Couple Questions

I am looking into ported upper and lower intake manifolds, and I would really like some unbiased opinions on the difference between Milzy and the wot-tech manifolds. I know I am probably posting in the wrong place to get an unbiased opinion but I would really like to know the differences possibly with some numbers or proof of which is better. Any help with this would be excellent!

Also, I am getting a 65mm TCE Throttle Body, and I am assuming I will need a gasket for that, I don't want to buy a whole gasket set quite yet because I will be installing this some time before the manifolds, so if you guys could help me find the part number for the Fel-Pro throttle body gasket that would be great!

Don't know about the intakes, but for the gasket, I would just buy some gasket material and cut one out. Larry

If it's just intake manifolds you probably won't go wrong either way. One thing for sure, you don't want to cheap out on the lower intake gaskets.

do you know if there's a difference in the porting or a difference in the sportsman or competition lines?

Ben claimed that he smoothed further or something like that, i can't remember what exactly he said and then Mike at Milzy claims that he leaves them texturized for a better flowing air or something.

Fel-pro is a good gasket right?

The Sportsman option is mostly gasket matching of the ports to create a smooth transition from one manifold to the other. The Competition option is a full porting of the entire runner length for more overall airflow at peak RPM.

The theory behind leaving part of the lower manifold "texturized" is to cause turbulent airflow just before the fuel injectors to help mix the fuel/air mixture better before it enters the cylinders. I have no idea if that theory holds up for better performance in the real world though. But if Milzy does this then it's pretty safe to say his lower is comparable to the Ben's sportsman lower intake.

Fel-pro is good. I recommend their MS98003T set as I don't think anyone has encountered the infamous lower manifold gasket leak with them yet.

So Ben, between all of your ported manifolds and Milzy's ported Manifolds which will gain me the most power on a mostly stock vehicle with and intake and 65mm TB?

Also, I will probably be going with headers into larger exhaust with a cutout, if that means anything.

Also, do you know where I can find just a TB gasket, doesn't matter what brand, but a part number would be great, thanks!

My heads and manifolds are based on flowbench testing and engine simulation. The competition series manifolds are the best I have to offer. I am sure you can guess what my opinion is between my work and what MMS sells.

Felpro 61053 is the throttle body gasket.

Ha yeah i figured you'd say that I wasn't sure if there was any testing between the two, one last question with the manifolds, i plan on ordering sometime within the next 3-4 months, but I wont be able to send back the cores for some time, how long is that core charge good for?

Also, thanks a ton for that part number!

Core returns must be sent back to us within 30 days of receiving the parts. Core parts must be in good usable condition (no cracks, modification, or paint/powder coating). Parts must be the same type as you received. It is important to package your core returns properly, using enough packing material to keep them safe. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required if you want to make a claim on damaged goods caused from shipping. Faster shipping methods are less prone to damage, so be aware of this if you decide to use the cheapest method possible to ship core returns.
