  • no start when hot

i have a 3500/282 swaped 98 z24, its run with a 99 grand am pcm with a questionable "tune". the car runs ok only a little lean when im driving it around. once it gets up to temperature and i turn it off if i try and start it within 30minutes from when i turned it off the starter trys to turn it over then the solinoid just clicks like i have a dead battery. volt meter reads 13 volts . if i alow the motor to sit long enough to cool down it starts right up. its not overheating and ive tryed three known good starters? any thoughts?

Check your battery cables and how clean your grounds are. Look for corrosion on the connection themselves and in the jackets up by the battery terminals and that the cables are nice and tight in the terminal connectors. That's about the best start I can think of right now. Was the 13v at the starter or the battery?
