1.6 Rockers in a FWD 2.8

Ok...did my due diligence and browsed pages and pages of search results on this and only became more confused...so now i'm looking for some clarification.

From what i read, it looks as though i have a couple of options: I can either buy the COMP (or other brand rockers), swap studs, trim pushrod guides, set lashes, and make those work, OR I can save the cash and go get a set of factory rockers from a 94/95 3100, swap the pushrod guides, use the 2.8/3.1 studs, and i'm done. Right???

This sounds too good to be true about the 3100 rockers....

I don't think you have to swap the guides at all, the 1.6's from a 94/95 3100 should be a bolt in deal.

You can install full roller rockers buy purchasing the Crane Cams Gold race rockers. They come with studs so you just bolt them in. Gen II engines do not require any special clearance work. This option is most expensive but they are the best rocker.

You can buy the COMP Magnum roller tip rockers that fit 10mm studs and convert over to iron head adjustable studs and your good to go. The rockers come with the pivot ball and locking nut. These are the best deal at under $150 and I will sell you some studs dirt cheap if you cannot find some locally.

You can use factory non roller1.6:1 rockers and just install them in place of your rockers.

I have never had pushrod guide clearance problems but you do need to check that there is no binding by turning the engine over by hand and observing the pushrods during the lift cycle.

I have a set of 85,000 mile 3.1 stock rockers with the balls and nuts out of a 94 olds, probably fit in a flat rate box, real cheap but not free. These are the net lash type where the bolt tightens down on top of the stud. Will these fit yours? Larry
